A whole bunch of brands and companies completely redesigned their logos this year. From simple color changes to complete revamps. Business Insider took it upon themselves to go through graphic-design collective UnderConsiderations’ Brand New blog to get a perspective of which brands decided to give themselves a little facelift. Here are the top 10 logo changes of 2014.
5. Pizza Hut
Pizza Hut definitely decided to get in with the cool kids this year as they designed this hip logo. They even went as far as making employee uniforms fitted T-shirts and flannels. Their new logo represents a splash of tomato sauce in pizza dough – seems to work well with the overall rebrand.
Codecademy boasts over 24 million users who have gone through over 100 million of the site’s free coding exercises. Now honestly, for such a popular site, their logo sucked. Too generic. The new one on the other hand looks extremely professional and even has the word “code” instantly recognizable within its own little box.
1. Major League Soccer
The 2014 FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and Brazil attracted an astonishing 26 million viewers in the US, making it officially the most-watched football game in American history. With that being said, there is no doubt that football has landed in the US, and with that, a new fitting logo for the US professional football league is required.
MLS new facelift, premiering on the field next year, brings an exciting and beautiful redesign which will be on each of the league’s team color in jerseys.
