Who thought something beautiful would come out of the Boston Marathon Bombing in 2013, exchanging a tragedy for something magical? Magical! Something so magical that it in fact rekindled that spark of love that has been missing, across a world that has been embracing more hatred than anything else for the past months.
A unique relationship formed out of a devastating event; a marriage between a victim and a nurse who truly cared for him, a stranger. His name is James Costello, a 31-year-old bystander who caught the worst of the explosion, suffering from severe wounds putting him through months of surgery and rehab.
It was at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital where Costello met his wife, Krista D’Agostino. Though there were plenty of nurses who took care of him, he had a special connection that only grew with D’Agostino as she guided him through his difficult medical phases.
If that doesn’t scream love, last December, in an interview with the “Today” show, Costello said that the bombing actually brought him love.
She hates when I say this, but I’m actually glad I got blown up… I got her.
