Capital Club Dubai to kick off its original Women’s Speaker Series with “Doing the Unexpected” event

The panel discussion, which is inspired by International Women’s Day, will feature four inspiring women and their extraordinary stories

In celebration of International Women’s Day (which is being commemorated worldwide on 8 March), Capital Club – Dubai’s Premier Private City Club and member of the ENSHAA group of companies – will launch its inaugural Women’s Speaker series with an inspiring event titled “Doing the Unexpected” on Wednesday, 9 March, 2016. The ground-breaking occasion, which will feature four indomitable women from varied backgrounds, will be moderated by Ithaca Life founder and Capital Club member Sophia Fromell.

Launched in the early 1900s during a time of massive political and industrial development and change, International Women’s Day is a global event designed to recognise and celebrate the achievements of women across the board.

To celebrate this day the panel will share their stories of success over a scrumptious buffet breakfast, which will run from 7.30 – 9.30am.

Inspiring investment director Heather Henyon will discuss her stirring tale of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in 2014, while corporate strategist and humanitarian hero Rebecca Hill will speak on her experience of volunteering in Lesbos, helping the 2,000 plus refugees who land on the island’s shores on a daily basis.

Bringing a flair for humour to the event will be comedienne Mina Liccione, who is making great strides here in Dubai where she has co-founded Dubomedy and Clowns Who Care. Finally on the panel to bring stories of diplomatic life is the illustrious first resident Ambassador of Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to the UAE: Nicole Bintner-Bakshian.

Commenting on the event Capital Club Director of Membership Lauren Ruttle said:

“Promoting gender parity comes through recognition of the simple fact that we are all human; it is not a mission driven only by women but men who believe in the power of diversity. The battle for gender equality has made tremendous progress over the past 100 years or so, a fact that is gratifyingly highlighted by the four women speakers on the panel for Capital Club’s upcoming event”
