Some people whine about taking a cab to their jobs or walking for 5 min to the grocery store, some think that a commute of 15 min is the ultimate suffering and others can’t even bother making it to work if it’s raining outside. And then there is James Robertson, a 56 years old Detroit hustler who commutes 21 miles to, every f*cking day!
James started walking to the factory where he currently works 10 years ago after his car broke down. Not having enough money to buy a new one, he decided that he’d still go to work, on time, by walking for hours every day. Talk about dedication!
“I didn’t want to end up doing nothing. Do you know how long it took me to find this job?” Robertson told TODAY. “No matter how tough things are, I like to stick it out.”
What’s your excuse?
James’ shift goes from 2pm until 10pm, after which he walks back home and arrives at 4 am, sleeps for 2 hours and then gets up at 6 am to head to work. James’ story went viral online, and soon enough a fundraiser was on track to get James enough cash to buy a new car. So far the GoFundMe crowdfunding page has over $130,000 and counting!
