Sometimes all you need is a show of gratitude to make someone’s day, and sometime you need to tip them $100 to make a point.
We all have, at some point in time, grabbed a burger or a burrito in one of the fast food chains next door, and as always, we go through that drive-thru and yell out our orders to the guy in front of us before leaving all happy with our pack of junk. But rarely do we actually think about the individual who served us, who is relentlessly working is ass off and coping with all sorts of customers, from the self-absobred manager to the grumpy mother trying trying to calm down her 16 kids in the back. That person, who pushes herself or himself to smile and give you your order as fast as they can, make little to no money considering their effort. In fact, all they make is the minimum wage, without that little extra on the side. I mean think about it, waiters and “garsons” all expect you to tip them that extra 5 bucks at the end of the meal, you know, to thank them for their service. But the guy in the drive-thru who handles hundreds of order everyday, well, tough luck.
It really doesn’t have to be that way though, and this insightful video shows us that people you take for granted and the services you expect to be top notch should come at a price. It’s not about the extra dollar you give, but it’s about showing some humanity towards people and dealing with them as you’d deal with family or friends. We’re all in the same boat, all trying to make a living and all hustling to put some bread on the table. Some have it easy and others have to go through hell to make ends meet. If we treated each other with compassion and showed gratitude and support, maybe this world would be a less messed up place don’t you think?
