It’s incredible to think that the Internet was only created in 1969, but it was never anywhere near as sophisticated as it is now. The original message online was sent from one computer to another. And this was the start of some incredible things. As we know that the Internet now is one of the biggest resources available to mankind. It houses immense amounts of data and supports our day-to-day life in lots of different ways. From Internet banking to Casino Oasis’ slots and betting games, there are many ways in which the Internet enriches our lives. Entertainment is, of course, one way in which we use the Internet. But how has the Internet changed the way in which we entertain ourselves? And what can we do to use entertainment to our advantage?
TV shows on the internet are abundant, and with Netflix dominating the market with a vast amount of shows available, you could quite easily sit down for a couple of years and watch Netflix without reaching the end of the available episodes. TV shows used to be only on the TV, but now we can watch them on our phones, tablets, and laptops, where ever we are. Children can watch their favourite TV show on their phones during school break times, and the parents who aren’t getting much sleep can quite easily watch a box set whilst feeding the newborns. But this is a relatively new technology, and we forget that Netflix Only began in 1998, as a online DVD rental store. Times have changed now, and even though DVDs and DVD players are still available, many of us choose online streaming for our Films and TV shows
When chat rooms online began, there are many people who discounted them as nonsense and not something that will take off, a few years later Facebook and other social networking sites started appearing, and revolutionised communication online, long gone were just simple emails, and now we had instant communication, but kept us in touch with many people around the world. There are positives and negative‘s to the situation of course, and we are still learning about communication and how people are able to contact others, but there is no doubt in the fact that people been able to speak to relatives around the country or even the world, and update them with photographs of their day-to-day activities, is revolutionary.
The arts are going through a change over recent years and providing information, training, and entertainment through the internet make this part of the entertainment industry, more accessible to people. Online ticket sales, to live videos, the Internet certainly has helped boost certain aspects of the arts and theatre. This is well received and certainly something that many of us are grateful for.
So as long as you are sensible, and you know what entertainment means to you, you can find pretty much anything you like to entertain you online now. This is something that we take for granted, but it’s certainly a benefit to us humans.
