This Thursday Facebook’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, had his first-ever public Q&A. A bunch of different questions came flying in which he was more than happy to answer, questions about Facebook’s projections, future, staff and even Zuckerberg’s own wardrobe, which surprisingly enought doesn’t contain Versace’s latest winter-collection – not even close to it.
So, “Why do you wear the same T-shirt every day?” Now for those who haven’t noticed yet, this billion dollar mogul pretty much wears the same gray T-shirt at the majority of all his public events. Sounds crazy I know, and while a lot of us were expecting a playful or rather laid-back response, Zuckerberg gave a full on serious response that clarifies his “Grey T-shirt mystery”.
I really want to clear my life to make it so that I have to make as few decisions as possible about anything except how to best serve this community.
Zuckerberg also took the time to clarify that he does have “multiple same shirts.” Thought he continues with the most extraordinary and slightly weird explanation, stating that even small decisions like choosing your outfit for the day or what to eat for breakfast could really be exhausting and energy consuming, and well, he simply doesn’t want to waste time doing that.
I’m in this really lucky position, where I get to wake up every day and help serve more than a billion people. And I feel like I’m not doing my job if I spend any of my energy on things that are silly or frivolous about my life.
Now don’t start judging just yet because believe it or not, there are multiple individuals who have the same mentality as “Zuck,” in fact, even Steve Jobs and President Barack Obama have the same theory when it comes to clothes. Think it doesn’t get weirder? Jobs, founder of Apple, in fact, told Walter Isaacson in his biography that he even wanted to have all Apple employees wear the same vest.
