Let’s face it, the world would have been a completely different place if Bill Gates had actually decided to follow in his fathers footsteps and become a lawyer. Luckily, for all of us, he decided to take on a different path that would turn out to be one of the greatest journeys mankind has ever seen.
Gates had always been a genius, even in his teens. In fact, he was so brilliant that as a youngster he was asked by his school to write a class scheduling program – so seeing him grow up to be one of the most influential people in technology isn’t really that big of a surprise. What’s even funnier is that he started his journey at Harvard thinking that he would become a lawyer – just like his old man.
In order to get some perspective on how Gates got from once wanting to be a lawyer to becoming one of the greatest tech visionaries, check out this graphic adaptation of Bill Gates story, told in Walter Isaacson’s book “The Innovators.” Credit for the graphic goes to Funders and Founders‘ information designer Anna Vital.
