Daniel Gomez is the co-founder and CEO of Solben, a company that designs and manufactures a press that extracts oil from plants to produce diesel fuel.
At the age 22, while still a college student, Daniel realized that “there was no Mexican technology for biodiesel production on the market”. The company was founded in 2009 and is now Mexico’s biodiesel technology leader. The company has expanded internationally and sales in the U.S, Central America and India are close to $5 million.
Daniel was named “Mexican Innovator of the Year” by the MIT Technology review and has won several awards including Global Student Entrepreneur Award, Talent and Innovation Challenges of the Americas 2011 Award, NY Stock Exchange Intelius Entrepreneurship Award, Mexican Stock Exchange Entrepreneurship Award and the INC 30 Under 30 Award.
Daniel has spoken at more than 150 international events and has recently won the Forbes 30 under 30 2015 social impact award.
